A Glossary of Perfume Terms
Coffret - Gift set that includes perfume and matching body products, or several fragrances from same perfume house.
Factice - Display perfume bottle for use as commercial advertisement. Contents and bottle size not indicative of actual scent or size.
Flacon - Perfume bottle, from French, first use 1824.
Flanker - A fragrance sequel. Sometimes using the original scent or packaging, with small changes.
Gourmand - Perfume that smells like foods, such as honey or chocolate.
Muguet - French term for the Lily of the Valley flower.
